Coding Club meets for an hour after school: grades 6 - 8 start on Oct. 13; grades 2 - 5 start on Oct. 14.

Art Club! We still have spaces available in our new 7th - 8th grade Art Club: Thursdays from 3:00 - 4:00. There is a $10 monthly fee for materials. Is your child artistic?

Popcorn Sale! For the 2021-2022 school year, there will be three mandatory fundraisers: popcorn sales in the fall and spring, and chocolate sale at Christmastime. Each family is responsible for selling $100 of popcorn in the fall and $100 of popcorn in the spring ($200 of popcorn in the school year). Don’t worry, it’s really delicious. The fall sale begins Oct. 18: more information forthcoming.

1st holy Communion will be held on Sat., May 7 (time TBD) for OLC students. First Communion photos will take place on Sat., Apr. 9, at 9am. Get your first holy Communion apparel on time for pictures!

All the area Catholic high schools will have representatives to talk to parents and students in Halpin Hall.

Dear Parents, Physical, vision, and dental forms are due now. There will be a school exclusion date by law later this month for students not in compliance.

Is your child in After care? If you need to contact someone in After care, email Ms. Mullins: mmullins@olc- school.org. She monitors her email constantly during After care.

Are you good with money? We need counters to count parish funds: Mondays at 8am. Email me if you can volunteer. This is a long term volunteer opportunity (at least ‘till May).

Picture day is Tues., Oct. 5. Students must wear their formal uniform. Details were emailed last Tuesday. Parent-Teacher Conferences are on Oct. 7 and 8. They will be in-person or via Zoom, your choice. Sign-up information will be sent to you in a separate email.

Please welcome our new school secretary, Mr. Pedro Infante. Mr Infante previously worked at St. Genevieve Parish on the Northwest Side of Chicago.

St. Laurence High School will be hosting an Open House on Sunday, October 3, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event will include academic and financial aid presentations, student-led tours and areas to learn more about academics, athletics, arts, activities and more. Dear Parents, OLC Movie Night this week was postponed due to the weather. The event will now take place outdoors on our soccer field at 6:30 pm on Thurs., Sept. 30. Bring chairs, blankets, and the children to this family friendly event! Food and beverages will be sold, too.

Parent-Teacher Conferences are on Oct. 7 and 8. They will be in-person or via Zoom, your choice; more information forthcoming.

Many of you know that our school secretary, Mrs. Avalos, will be leaving OLC on October 1. Please welcome our new school secretary, Mr. Pedro Infante, who has begun working here on a part-time basis until he begins full-time on Oct. 4.
