OUR LADY OF CHARITY SCHOOL WEEKLY NEWSLETTER October 29, 2021


Dear parents,

Veterans! Fr. Sergio will celebrate a special Mass for Veterans at 1:00 on Veterans Day: Thursday, November 11. This will be an all school Mass (grades 1 - 8); family members of students who are Veterans and all parents are invited.

Immunizations: the deadline is Friday, November 5, to submit to the school office evidence of a scheduled appointment for a health exam and immunizations or the immunization record. This is required by the IL State Board of Education. After this date, students not in compliance may be excluded from school.

Financial aid: Tuition and payment related questions may be directed by email to our operations director, Becky Cornacchia: finance@olc-school.org. This includes, for example, inquiries related to payment date changes, delinquency, aid amount, financial aid available, etc. Finance office hours are Monday and Thursday, by appointment, from 8:30-3:30. If you prefer to call, dial extension 102.

Empower Illinois’ reservation night has been set for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022.

Popcorn Sale: Thank you for all your efforts with last week’s popcorn sale. We exceeded our goal and made a profit of over $11,000 to assist us with the operation of the school!

Congratulations to all our OLC Cross Country runners for a great season! Our championship meet was held at Lewis University in Romeoville. OLC competed very well against 31 other west suburban parochial schools.

The 8th graders had a wonderful class trip to Springfield last week. They made us very proud with their excellent behavior and they learned a lot about Illinois, the Land of Lincoln. Thank you to our parent chaperones!

1st holy Communion will be held on Sat., May 7 (time TBD) for OLC students. First Communion photos will take place on Sat., Apr. 9, at 9am. Get your first holy Communion apparel on time for pictures!

Important dates: Monday, November 1: All Saints Day school Mass at 1:00; grades 1 - 8; parents are invited

Tuesday, November 2: All Souls Day school Mass at 1:00; grades 1 - 8; parents are invited (our celebrant for Masses on Nov. 1 and 2 will be Fr. Ricardo Castillo from St. Pius X Church in Stickney as Fr. Sergio is on vacation)

Wednesday, November 3: early dismissal (30 minutes before the regular time) Thursday, November 4: there will be NO school Mass Wednesday, November 10: VanGogh photo retakes Thursday, November 11: Veterans Day Mass at 1pm. Parents and all Veterans are invited. Thursday, November 11: High School Fair at OLC, 6:00 - 7:30 pm. All the area Catholic high schools will have representatives to talk to parents and students in Halpin Hall. Friday, November 12: no school; teacher staff development day Wednesday, November 17: early dismissal (30 minutes before the regular time)
