June 4th 2021

Dear Parents,

We do not yet know what next school year will bring in terms of COVID-19 safety practices in schools. Students in the public schools will continue to wear masks, and the Catholic schools may decide to follow suit. Other details are to be determined. I will keep you posted. I appreciate all your support of our school during this unique year.

Congratulations to our OLC Class of 2021. Move forward, toward the future!

Students’ final report cards were either sent home with your child yesterday or they will go home today. Please ask to see it. Parents of students on remote instruction may pick up their child’s report card today, or phone the office and ask that it be mailed home to you.

At the beginning of the school year, we were somewhat flexible with the school uniform. Students were allowed to wear their gym uniform and gym shoes every day. This fall we are reverting to the standard uniform.

Remember that students must wear black or brown dress shoes, or all black or all white low-top sneakers, on non-gym days. We are bringing back physical education class next year. Mr. Daniel Lopez will be our new P.E. (gym) teacher. Mr. Lopez is currently employed at Josephinum Academy of the Sacred Heart, a girls’ high school on the Northwest Side of Chicago, where he is the soccer coach. He is a graduate of Saint Xavier University in

Chicago.
