Dear Parents, Please remember to take a few minutes to pray with your children for the victims of the violence in Uvalde, Texas. See our school website or Facebook page for additional tips for parents. This Memorial Day weekend, we honor and pray for the men and women who have courageously laid down their lives for our freedom. May God grant them mercy and welcome them into His heavenly kingdom (NCEA).

Congratulations to our graduating 8th graders, OLC Class of 2022! God bless them as they begin their high school journey. Olympic Day this week was a big hit! I would like to thank these three: 1. Mrs. Peg Sweeney for making it possible! 2. You parents, for all your generous donations of time and food! 3. The 8th grade class, for their leadership and maturity!

Be sure to keep your PowerSchool email address, phone number, and mailing address up to date. For School Messenger emails, PowerSchool automatically pulls from the “Guardian Email Address” listing, so please look at that.

Our lost and found is packed. If your child misplaced an item at school, stop in to have a look (room 104).

Students may come out of uniform on the last day of school, June 3 (no charge).

Refer a new family to OLC, and we will waive your tuition for one month next school year. The new family must enroll a child to qualify for the waiver.

Take advantage of the summer months to update your VIRTUS training so you can volunteer next year.

The school supply list for next school year will be emailed to you in the next couple of weeks.

Dear Parents, Tardy to school: Over 20 students were tardy on Wednesday this week. That is a lot! Tardy students lose out on instruction and disrupt the class. School is practice for the work world, and those who arrive late to work suffer the consequences. Please make sure your son or daughter is here by 7:50 at the latest.

OLC Olympic Day is Monday, May 23. Can you volunteer? We will have a variety of jobs. We are also looking for parents to provide donations of hot dogs, hot dog buns, individual bags of chips, bottled water, and ice cream sandwiches. Please email me or call the school if you can help out. It will be a lot of fun.

2nd grade boys and girls making their 1st holy Communion on May 7 will wear their 1st Communion dresses/ outfits AGAIN for the OLC Ribbon Mass on Thurs., May 19, at 1:00. Parents are invited.

Questions about financial aid, tuition, payment dates, or refunds should be directed to the operations office. This office is staffed on Mondays and Thursdays, and can also be reached by email: finance@olc-school.org

Library books must be returned by May 18: search the corners of your home! Students may be charged for books not returned.

8th graders did a fantastic job on their Capstone Projects this year. These research projects were on display for parents earlier this week. Some of the topics were very powerful. Congratulations to the OLC band for a beautiful concert on April 27. We are very proud of the progress our band members made this year.

Important dates: Thursday, May 19: 8th grade Ribbon Mass at 1:00. Parents of 2nd graders and 8th graders are asked to bring cake, cookies, brownies, and/or a beverage to share afterward in Halpin Hall. Parents are welcome to join us.
