Mr. Chris Misch-Bloxdorf

Mr. Chris Misch-Bloxdorf is our music teacher and assistant choral director. Originally from Wisconsin, he received his Bachelor's in Trombone Performance from Lawrence University, but after graduating left the Midwest to continue his education in New York City where he attended NYU. There he received his Masters in Jazz Studies. Following studies at NYU, he spent time in NYC working at Carnegie Hall, teaching across the boroughs and gigging in the evening. Deciding to return to the Midwest in 2017, he began teaching across southeastern Wisconsin through the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. Additionally, he has spent the past two years teaching songwriting and music production across Chicago with the organization Changing Worlds.

He currently is working with the organization UP Music, teaching General Music, Band, and Piano classes at several schools in the Chicagoland area. Mr. Chris believes, "Music is not only an artistic practice but deals with elements of math, history, culture, and physics! I try to do a lot of cross-pollination with my lessons so that students understand how music is shaped and affects the world around." them."
