OUR LADY OF CHARITY SCHOOL
WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
March 12, 2021
Dear Parents,
We are hosting a raffle to pay for the repair of our elevator. We use the elevator every day to transport food and supplies upstairs, and for students who are temporarily unable to take the stairs. We are raffling three objects:
a copy of DaVinci’s painting The Last Supper. This unique print is highlighted in gold leaf, framed, and imported from Mexico
a black 20-inch Mongoose Brawler boys' freestyle BMX bike
an apron hand decorated by the second grade class.
REMOTE LEARNERS please stop by to pick up your tickets. Each ticket costs $5, and each family received five tickets to sell by April 1. The drawing will take place on Easter Sunday immediately following the noon Mass.
This week teachers in all grades read aloud to their students If a bus could talk: the story of Rosa Parks. The Bible teaches us that “whoever loves God must love his brother as well,” yet in this true story, students learned how Mrs. Parks had to ride to work on a segregated city bus in Alabama and couldn't sit in the same row as a white person, until one day when she refused to give up her seat to a white man. Ask your child: Who was Rosa Parks?
The students’ iReady standardized test results in math and in reading were sent home this week to parents in grades K - 8. A letter from me accompanied the test results. Have you seen them? If not, ask your child to please give them to you today!
See this link here for some easy to do at-home Lenten activities for you to enjoy with your OLC student.
Please complete the 3C’s parent survey that was sent home yesterday. Here is a link to it. The class with the highest percentage of parents completing the survey by March 16 will get a pizza party!
