January 18th, 2021
Dear Parishioners, Friends, Benefactors, and Online Visitors,
Hello! I hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. I am pleased to announce the Schedule of Services planned for Lent and Easter at Our Lady of Charity Church. Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of the Holy Season of Lent, occurs on February 17th, and Easter Sunday falls on April 4th.
I ask you to take note of this schedule and invite you to participate in our Lenten observances. During the Covid-19 Pandemic, please remember that it is crucial to register for any of the ceremonies you plan to attend.

I also communicate with great joy that every Third Saturday of each month, a group of volunteers and I will go out to visit our seniors and bring Holy Communion in their homes. The visitation hours will be from 11 am to 12:30 pm. If you wish to receive Communion each month in your home, please contact our Assistant Secretary, Ms. Elizabeth Gutierrez, at (708) 863-1207.
Finally, I would like to take a moment to thank you for your prayers and your weekly contributions. I must inform you that at the beginning of the Pandemic, a deficit of $30,000.00 was anticipated for the year. However, given the current situation of the Pandemic, a shortfall of $90,000.00 is now projected. For this reason, I ask you to consider making a pledge to our Lady of Charity Parish for the six months extending from February through July. I ask that you please make your decision in an atmosphere of prayer. Please use the form we have included and return it to OLC at 3620 S. 57th Court. Cicero, IL 60804. I extend my sincere thanks for your consideration and ongoing support.
Our Lady of Charity, comfort of the afflicted, pray for us.
With my prayers,
Fr. Sergio Mena
Pastor
